walkb4runIf you’ve been sidelined from sports due to injury or lack of motivation, please remember, you should be able to walk for at least 45 minutes without pain before you begin running. Even after being cleared by a medical professional, you should use caution.

Don’t use pain relievers (either prescribed or over-the-counter) to judge your ability. Pain tells you when to stop. If you feel targeted pain, (as opposed to general muscle soreness), we suggest that you are evaluated by a physical therapist and perhaps add some weight training to support your weakest, most painful areas.

Chiropractors focus on bones, muscles and joints. Dr. Stasinos and Dr. Panopoulos at Active Health are well suited to evaluate your ability to resume training. We work closely with in-house physical therapists to create a plan to get you back to optimal health and training for the next race as soon as possible.
