We’ve known for quite some time that truck drivers and workers who sit on “vibrating” machinery have high rates of back pain & sciatica (check out the video attached for an explanation).

Now a new study has clarified that the risk of problems from “whole-body vibration” is directly related to excess body weight. Maintaining a healthy weight can be good for many reasons, and now we know that it can also reduce your risk for sciatica. Are you trying to lose weight? Here are 2 tips to keep in mind:

  • Try to avoid unnecessary calories – cut out snacking between lunch & dinner
  • Gradually increase your activity level – start by trying to walk every day
