Tennis elbow is a chronic irritation on the outside of your elbow. There are many treatment alternatives, including surgery.

However, a new study in the American Journal of Sports Medicine questions the value of surgery for tennis elbow:

“Surgical excision offers no additional benefit over and above placebo surgery for the management of chronic tennis elbow. No significant difference was observed between the groups in any parameter at any stage.”
